Now we will model the design connecting tube with sphere using a simple plane in 3ds max by using edit poly and moving vertices in x,y and z axis .


Now we will model third part by using a sphere and we will do the actions same as with tube to make the inner design .( i.e. segments in multiple of 9 ).

We will delete the below part of sphere to make it semisphere using editpoly modifier and then we will attach the plane to sphere in vertex sub-object mode to weld the vertices to make it one .

Fig : showing attached sphere with plane and vertices are weld using weld target or by selecting vertices to weld and using collapse tool of editpoly modifier .
